You will learn how to shift your material selections so you can deliver truly healthy interiors to your clients.

Annette K. Stelmack is the founding principal of Inspirit-llc, bringing nearly four decades of experience in the building industry as a nationally recognized sustainable design leader, educator and author.  Honoring her client’s vision and goals, she delivers healthy, high-performing interiors with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.  Stelmack innately guides project teams with her passion, knowledge, strategies and celebration of creativity.  A LEED® AP Building Design + Construction and WELL AP design professional, Stelmack excels in programming, planning, design, research, documentation, specification and implementation of interior architectural finishes, details and furnishings for multi-unit housing, residential, hospitality and spa projects. She specializes in working with clients who have multiple chemical sensitivities striving for the highest level of indoor air quality.

Stelmack has received numerous awards and recognition as a designer and advocate for sustainability including USGBC 2014 Best in Building – Small Interior Design Firm.  The Green Economy Post included her in ‘Honoring 10 Women in Green Building and Design’ and Innovative Home magazine named her one of the ‘Top Ten Green Design Gurus’.   Her award-winning work has been widely published and past projects received the highest honors from the ASID Colorado Chapter for 1st place ‘Residential and Hospitality Sustainable Design’.  She was interviewed for American Architectural Review, a PBS Green Design Series, and since 2000 lectures and facilitates workshops training professionals on sustainability at national conferences including Greenbuild International and Neocon.

Commitment to occupant’s health and wellbeing is paramount to Stelmack. Her dedication to humans thriving in the built environment is exemplified through her 2nd edition of ‘Sustainable Residential Interiors’ published 2014 by Wiley & Sons.  The 2nd edition addresses cutting-edge processes, strategies, and principles as well as details for in-depth product vetting criteria.  The first edition was an acknowledged catalyst for change awarded the Joel Polsky Prize by ASIDs Educational Foundation in 2008 recognizing outstanding academic contributions to the discipline of interior design.

Stelmack’s leadership, spirit, connections, and resourcefulness bring contagious energy to all her endeavors. She embraces an integrative approach where mutual respect leads to exceeding objectives!

In her spare time, she loves being outside!  She can be found in her organic gardens, kayaking, hiking, outdoor concerts, biking and spending time with family and friends – her husband Tom, their dog Buffett, son, daughter-in-law and grandkiddos plus her immigrant parents!
