Description
This course will focus on paint technologies you can specify to help improve the quality of your client’s home with respect to indoor air quality, odors, mold and mildew, and disease-causing bacteria on painted surfaces. You will learn how to find paints and coatings that are 3rd party-certified so that you can recommend a product with confidence. Finally, you will learn strategies for incorporating natural elements with biophilic design theory. Participants will achieve the following learning objectives:
- Understand the evolution of the Healthy Home Movement.
- Learn about breakthrough paint and coating technologies that can help improve indoor air quality throughout the home.
- Understand how 3rd party certifications improve transparency and increase confidence in specifying products.
- Discuss strategies for incorporating nature by applying biophilic design theory

Samantha Noonan and Tiara Castro are Designer Account Executives for Sherwin-Williams in the Boston District. Samantha has been a part of the Sherwin Williams team since the beginning of 2018 and has held the positions of Management Trainee and Assistant Manager. Tiara has been a part of the team since 2014 and has held various positions such as Sales Associate, Intern, Assistant Manager, and Manager. In their current role, Samantha and Tiara offer specification support, color tool expertise, and on-going product education to residential designers and architects throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
