"The Visual Designer: Visual Communication with Generative AI" is a 90-minute, IDCEC-certified course (1.5 CEU credits) taught by Jenna Gaidusek that takes designers beyond basic prompting to focus on production quality, ethics, and efficiency in client-facing visual communication. The class covers prompt engineering techniques that reliably shape composition, style, and detail; how to use AI to translate mood board concepts into realistic project imagery; a comparison of leading platforms including Google Gemini and ChatGPT; and how to evaluate disclosure guidelines to protect your firm and set clear client expectations. Students also learn practical workflow applications such as removing clutter, swapping materials, and adding furniture to existing space photos. Designers who complete this session gain the confidence to ethically produce cohesive visual concepts that communicate their vision faster and more effectively than traditional rendering methods.
